Cutty Sark Motel - York

Fairly clean hotel, nice staff & marvellous location on the ocean. Coffee and muffins for breakfast, nice touch. Location not far from local restaurants, the beach and in the water, and downtown.

Beds were too firm.

The ocean view from our room was amazing 🌊 The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach. Only downside was the small bathroom, but overall a great getaway!

With a little baby in tow, we loved exploring the nearby beach, soaking in fine views while enjoying family activities like fun at the seaside arcades. The clean room provided a cozy spot to relax after a day full of excitement.

My kids wished for more seating at the lawn for families with children.

Absolutely loved the fine ocean views and relaxed in the comfy room. The charming lawn furniture made lazy afternoons divine! Perfect for a stroll to the nearby beaches.

But honestly, the bathroom was so tiny I reminded me of I'd need a GPS to find my soap! And don't ask about the hairdryer. It seemed to be stuck in the 90s.

we had a wonderful three-night stay with clean, cute rooms and a fine view, perfectly situated for walking to nearby Long Sands Beach and the beautiful Hartley Mason Reserve, making every stroll an lovely experience.

The location was fantastic, with an amazing view of the ocean from the bedroom window. I really enjoyed being able to open the windows and listen to the ocean waves at night. The complimentary coffee and muffin made mornings extra special.

I loved the beautiful ocean views and easy access to the manicured lawn right outside my room, which allowed me to enjoy the soothing sound of the waves. Perfect for a serene getaway for seniors like myself.

Had an very nice stay with fine views! The peaceful location let us fully unwind and enjoy the sound of the waves. We loved lounging outside our room and directly accessing the manicured lawn right by Long Sands Beach. Perfect for a family getaway, but keep an eye on toddlers by the cliffs.

The views at Cutty Sark are stunning, creating a beautiful backdrop for our stay. While the rooms are somewhat dated, the staff is friendly and attentive. Access to the beach is convenient, but handicap parking could be improved. A peaceful experience worth revisiting.

A Relaxing Beach Getaway with Lovely Views

We enjoyed three nights in an ocean-view room with beautiful sunrises and gentle ocean sounds. The short walk to nearby shops and restaurants was a bonus. Just beware of the rocky access to the beach if you have mobility concerns. Perfect for families looking for tranquility!

The ocean views from my room at the Cutty Sark were amazing. I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh sea air. The lawn right outside provided easy access to relax and unwind. The sound of the waves. The staff demonstrated great hospitality, always attentive. There were some issues with the seating available-most chairs on the lawn were lounge chairs, difficult for my aunt and me, as we have some mobility challenges. There weren't enough regular chairs who need them. The wi-fi connection in my room was a bit weak.

The path to the beach isn't straightforward. It involves navigating a rocky area, or you have to walk farther for another stairway-definitely not ideal for anyone with bad knees. The bathrooms are cramped, lacking storage for essentials, forcing you to get creative with toiletries. The only microwave is tucked away in the basement, which can be a hassle both in terms of accessibility and general convenience, particularly when expecting one in your room.
